to plan for the future. Our kitchen has a new Nassau County approved ventilation system and we are once again holding catered affairs in our Ballroom and Smorgasboard Room. Thanks go to all those who assisted in making these events possible from both a monetary and manpower standpoint.
With our new capacity to gather and analyze information, one reality that is almost intuitive if one reads the newspapers, listens to the media or goes shopping has been put into focus. The cost of running the physical plant that we call Congregation Beth David is rising rapidly. The cost of fuel oil alone has gone up 50% in one year. As you read this article, you will have received or will be receiving a letter announcing our annual Congregational Meeting at which we will discuss strategies to address this situation. At the same time, we also urge all those with outstanding obligations to CBD to pay them at once. We need every penny to maintain our operations.
